Description
A simple and delicious recipe for making smooth cold brew coffee at home, perfect for a refreshing drink.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup coarse ground coffee beans
- 4 cups cold water
Instructions
- Combine coffee grounds and cold water in a large jar or pitcher.
- Stir to ensure all grounds are saturated.
- Cover and refrigerate for 12-24 hours. The longer it steeps, the stronger the flavor.
- Strain the coffee concentrate through a fine-mesh sieve lined with cheesecloth or a coffee filter into another container. Discard the grounds.
- Dilute the cold brew concentrate with water or milk to your desired strength. Typically, a 1:1 ratio of concentrate to liquid is a good starting point.
- Serve over ice.
Notes
- Use coarse ground coffee for best results; fine grounds can make the brew cloudy and bitter.
- Experiment with different coffee beans to find your favorite flavor profile.
- Adjust steeping time to control the strength of your cold brew.
- Store leftover concentrate in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1-2 weeks.
